{ what to expect for your family session }

My approach is to photograph your family in comfortable settings.  Families are photographed at outdoor locations from spring to fall.  Sometimes winter, depending on how brave you are!

Includes up to 5 people. Additional people please add $25.

We’ll be together for about 1 1/2-2 hours so be prepared to laugh a lot and just have fun!

Before the Session:

The best time to photograph your family is when everyone is well rested and relaxed. Outdoor sessions are scheduled for approximately 6:30 in the evening during spring & summer, due to the fabulous light that is available at that time.

I will be sending you a contract along with a questionnaire in order to better understand your family and make sure the session is fun.

Decide what your family is going to wear.

The clothing that you wear should compliment each other. I suggest picking 3 colors (or a color palette)  amongst yourselves and coordinating your outfits like that. You do not need to all wear the same color, OR the same thing.  I highly recommend that you do NOT.    We don’t want to be too matched up!

Lay out your clothes together and if they look good layed out they will look good in the photos.

Try to stay away from strong patterns or bright stripes as they are generally distracting.

It is also a good idea to layer. As an example a well-cut jacket is a great combo with a light top and perhaps dark bottoms.

During the Session:

I have a very quirky sense of humour and am very laid back. I enjoy my time photographing families and want them to enjoy it as well.

So while I will do some posed photos, I also take lots and lots of candids. I want you to enjoy yourselves as a family and that way I will be able to capture moments that you will love not just now, but many years down the road as well.

After the Session:

2 weeks after your photo session  you will be invited to view your photos in our  studio to make a selection out of the 20-40 presented.

Please expect 3-4 weeks for your product.
