Newborns are just so incredible!! I still remember with both of mine, how fascinated I was with their cute little faces, little fingers and tiny toes. But that time goes by too fast and being able to document your baby in the first few days of their new lives, is a privilege for me!
Pre-Session
It is best to book a tentative date for your newborn session based on your due date while you are still pregnant. You add my phone number to your call list, and when you get home, you can either call me yourself or assign someone to get in touch with me so we can book your newborn session.
The best time to photograph a newborn is between 5-12 days old. Your little one still enjoys being all curled up, baby acne hasn’t popped up yet and they will generally sleep more easy while being photographed which allows me to capture those cute poses that you’ll love!
That said, please bear in mind that it is totally understandable that sometimes circumstances do not allow for your baby to be photographed that young. Please call me if that is the case as I am more than happy to accommodate. The eldest ‘newborn’ I have photographed was 29 days old.

You will receive an email and on-line magazine from me outlining what to prepare for with your newborn session.
During the Session:
My studio is very warm. I do like to photograph baby in their birthday suit, and as newborns they need to be kept as warm as possible and comfortable. I keep the temperature at around 28-29° C (82-84° F).
Newborn sessions last for approximately 2-4 hours. It takes a lot of time and patience to pose baby. I ask that you sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself.
Baby will need to be very well fed, prior to the session. That said, expect to take breaks throughout our session. Baby will more than likely need to feed a few more times, be changed, and of course cuddled. Not a problem! Sessions are never ever rushed.
Focus will be on baby, but I am more than happy to include parents and siblings in a few photos as well.
The most important thing for parents to be aware of is that apart from comfortability, baby safety is number one always.
After Your Newborn Session:
2 weeks after your photo session, you will be invited to view your photos in our studio to make a selection out of the 20-40 presented.
