Where do you shoot at?
All newborn and children sessions are held in my studio. During warmer months, I do photograph both outdoors as well.
Family sessions are held outdoors weather permitting of course.
When should I book?
If you are looking to book a newborn session, please do so as soon as possible in order to secure a session date. Newborns are photographed between 5-12 days old. However, if your baby is a bit older, give us a call to check for availability.
For a maternity sessions it is generally recommended a photo shoot takes place between weeks 32-36 weeks of pregnancy. So please book right after your first trimester.
For regular sessions it’s advisable to book a few weeks in advance. If circumstances are such that you are unable to do so, then please still give me a call and I will try my best to accommodate you.
When is my fee due?
A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to hold your session. The retainer must be paid within 5 business days otherwise your session will not be booked. The remainder is due on the day of the session.
I’ve booked BUT what should I wear?
The clothing that you wear should compliment each other. I suggest picking 3 colors (or a color palette) amongst yourselves and coordinating your outfits like that. You do not need to all wear the same color, OR the same thing. I highly recommend that you do NOT. We don’t want to be too matched up!
Lay out your clothes together and if they look good laid out they will look good in the photos.
Try to stay away from strong patterns or bright stripes as they are generally distracting.
It is also a good idea to layer. As an example a well-cut jacket is a great combo with a light top and perhaps dark bottoms.
Wear something that is comfortable to you and makes you feel and look good. You need to be yourself in pictures and have fun doing it, so we capture your personalities in a candid and natural way.
If you wish to bring a change of clothing, feel free to do so. Please also be aware that Photoshopping skills only go so far. Changing the color of shirts and taking out major wrinkles is not part of what I do. So please make sure that your clothing is not wrinkled.
Be aware of shoe colors and accessories. If they clash in color they can create additional distractions.
Wear make-up that compliments your skin tone. Find a balance between natural and slightly glam coverage. Try to avoid wearing heavy and dark eye line and eye color as natural coloring around the eyes shows up better on camera.
These are all suggestions. It is your prerogative to wear whatever you want on that day. Hopefully this was a hopeful guide to you!
My child /spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend/sister is sick! Can we reschedule?
Yes!! Things are bound to happen that are out of our control. Of course you are able to reschedule, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you as much as possible to book a new date! It would be appreciated if you can give me as much notice as possible and your deposit may be put forward to a rescheduled session that must be booked within 3 months.
I booked my newborn shoot but my baby came early…now what?
Well, first off congratulations on having your baby and I hope that all is well! I care about baby’s safety and well being and for that reason we’ll reschedule for when baby is home for a few days before having the newborn session.
Do you have a referral program?
